Per mows a field with a mower drawn by two mules. A woman passes by the field, on the far side of a fence. Per says, ""DET ER SAA TUNGT AT VANDRE SAA ENE HER PAA JORD""
Per spots the woman and abruptly stops the mules. Per says, "Whoa, Jack! Whoa, Jill!"
The woman has walked out of frame. Per climbs a tree to watch her walk away.
Per is in his home, half-dressed, combing his beard. Other grooming supplies are spread across the table.
Per walks away from his house looking sharp. Cane in hand, a cigar in his mouth, and a flower pinned to his jacket.
It is fully night time. Per climbs a ladder towards a second story window. We hear the woman he spotted earlier singing from the open window. Sjur's Daughter says, ""EG SER DIG UD FOR GLUGJEN KJER' SÖTE VENNEN MIN"" Per says, "MY GOODNESS! MON TRU DE MIG HU TENKER PAA?"
The ladder breaks, dropping Per through the first floor window below his target. Sjur's Wife says, "SJUR! SJUR!- DU STORE VERDEN- UF- HER KOMMER-UF-EN-UF-AA NEI AU-AU-" Sjur says, "Hey, Vatch! Hey, Vatch! Come, Vatch!"
The window Per fell through was directly above the bed of the woman's parents. Her mother has been caught around the neck between the rungs of the ladder. Her father, Sjur, pulls on a pair of pants. Per says, "JE HAR AILLER SET NO SLIGT LEL." Sjur's Wife says, "ITTE JE HELLER- ELENDIGE TOSKEN." Sjur says, "Hey, Vatch! Hey, Vatch! Sig'm, Vatch!"
Per runs away from the house, Sjur and his dog hot on his heels. Sjur carries a musket with a bayonet. Odds and ends are thrown at Per from out of frame, presumably by Sjur's wife. Per says, "JE HAR NOK GJORT BEDRE JE HAR HÖLDT MIG HEME. DESSA KVINFOLKA ER ITTE ANA HEL NO FORDERVELI PAK LIGEVEL." Sjur says, "Sig'm! Sig'm, there! Sig'm, Vatch!"
